This promises to be THE event of the year, ladies and gentlemen:

Israel’s 1st ever Sextival.

What is this Sextival thing-ah-mah-jig, you ask?

Three days of debauchery, that’s what.

No. Really.

Three days of booths, videos, shows, lectures, games, prizes, appearances by international porn stars, a striptease contest and entertainment sponsored by Playboy, among others and centered around…well do I really need to S-P-E-L-L it out?

Want more info? Hit the Sextival website for details (it’s in Hebrew, sorry!).

Meanwhile, jot down the date/place: February 5-7th, Tel Aviv Port. Entrance to 18 and overs only, cost NIS60. Call to order tickets in advance: 03-544-8090 or place orders via the website.

  2. And you wonder why you lost your last war.

G-d is abandoning you because you are ignoring your covenant with G-d.

Look back to your history and you will see what has happened in the past when you ignored your covenant with G-d

  4. Who are you trying to impress, Hamas or Hezbollah? This will only confirm how decadent Israel has become.

  6. Because the “kinkier” side of procreation i.e. making it light and fun is being embraced? While I don’t necessarily endorse sextivals, I also don’t believe in the heavy guilt tripping over sex that is oft embraced by religious “idealists”.

  8. And Richard, how in the heck did Hamas or Hezbollah come under discussion vis a vis a sex fair?

  10. This is something that should NOT be done here!! I hope there will be protestors outside with signs – and one doesn’t have to be religious to be against it!

  12. Hey, it\’s not like they\’re holding the event in the playground of a residential area – it\’s going to be held indoors in a location that you have to go out of your way to get to, and you can\’t get in if you\’re under 18. No one is forcing anyone to attend, and if it wasn\’t mentioned here, you\’d probably never even found out about it.

    Live and let live, people.

  14. Damn, no english on the site………my Hebrew is limited……….Why is it that most Israeli sites think there is no English speaking Olim or tourists that are interested in their sites. Extremely frustrating!
    Very poor marketing.

  16. Steve, you said the following:

“And you wonder why you lost your last war.

G-d is abandoning you because you are ignoring your covenant with G-d.”

Really? It honestly had nothing to do with delaying the release of ground forces into Lebanon by our lame PM? It had nothing to do with our foreign minister buckling under the pressure of Condoleeza Rice in the negotiations leading up to 1701? Get a life, and an education, man.

  18. I am amazed at where israel is going in this new era.
Do you envison your forfathers seeing israel rebuilt and becoming a state (1949) then some years later haveing a sex party..Sodom & Gomora?
    Israel Have you forgotten?

Repent NOW..Cant you see around the world what going on?
The world hates you and God is your only escape yet you countinue your old ways.

    The european union is profecy
    russia is profecy
china from the east is profecy
Did not the bible say that Israel would become a “Burden” to the world?

  19. Stephanie on Thu, Jan 31st 2008 5:53 AM
  20. Mike:

I’ll be sure to look up what the bible said about “Israel” and “burdens” and I’ll try to remember what it is that I’ve apparently forgotten and am supposed to see.

However, I’m definitely repenting over your spelling mistakes.

    “Profecy” is spelled “p-r-o-p-h-e-c-y”
“forfathers” has an “e” in it
& you might want to run a spellcheck on Sodom and Gomora

Thanks for your words of warning but surely not EVERYONE hates us…Think of Jerry Falwell!

    Oops..he died.

  22. First of all, any of the people that are complaining about the indecency of the event, just remember you’re here on this site to begin with, if you’ve got some huge problem I don’t see what you’re doing checking out the event in the first place.

There always needs to be some separation between religion and politics, it can’t control the whole country, if you are set in your own beliefs then how do you think it will corrupt you? Just because I see a parade done by the KKK, doesn’t mean I’ll join them or just because you see a sex convention in Israel doesn’t mean all the Haradim will throw off their black hats and strap a glowing purple dick there instead.

Everyone has their own standards and they will follow them because that’s their choice. And if you’ve got a problem with the Sextival, I’ll see you later this week as I walk around you wasting your time with a picket sign out front.

  26. What’s wrong with a little kink in Israeli society? or Jewish society? Last time I looked, there wasn’t a commandment that said ‘thou should not have any kink!’ This has nothing to do with forefathers or religion. This has to do with what people do in the privacy of their own homes. All of you opposed, stay out of my bed unless you plan on washing my sheets. No matter what..Israel is a modern and very westernized country. At least they didn’t have it on shabbat! By the way, does anyone really care what hezbollah and hamas think anyway???

  27. Anon on Mon, Feb 11th 2008 8:50 AM
  28. Well the traditional Jewish religion obviously has no sway in Israel any longer, and I suspect it hasn’t had in quite a while. I don’t know which I hate more, the USA or Marxist, hedonistic Israel. As for the porter who talks about the separation of religion/morality and State, and people’s “private lives”: if you accept moral corruption on any level it infects all of society.

  29. Stephanie on Mon, Feb 11th 2008 9:07 AM
  30. I have to jump in again and note to “Anon”: What is corrupt about introducing a little bit of fun/liveliness/kink to sex? Granted, a strip-a-thon isn’t the height of modest living. But what’s wrong about displaying sexual gadgets and “add-ons” and teaching people how to use them?
