Bamboo: The New Hot Material

Eco-minded designers and developers everywhere are always searching for low cost, low impact raw materials for products.
Bamboo seems to be hitting the spotlight lately as a lucrative alternative to wood for a bevy of products, including toys.
Accordingly, Israel’s Shenkar College of Design is hosting a conference and exhibition today called “Eco-Play with Bamboo”. Visiting lecturers from Germany, France and China will discuss bamboo as a material of choice for toys and they’ll talk about the impact its use will have on the environment.
