Nargillah Law

If you’re 18 or under, hooked on the nargillah and living in Israel then you’re flat outta luck.

The Knesset (parliament) passed a new law – The Nargillah Law – barring anyone 18 or under from buying or renting those hookah pipes so common to this part of the world.

The law includes a stipulation calling for health hazard warnings to be displayed on Nargillah tobacco packages.

Yes, Nargillahs are fun and look great, but they aren’t healthy. And the stats show 30-40% of middle school, junior high and high school kids are smoking out of the pipes.

The fine for breaking the law?

11,000 whopping shekels. That’s $3,000 in America-speak.

Whew!
