Physical Therapy
This video mini-documentary by Yoav Shoam portrays an Israeli art therapist’s solution for treating regression and fear in Sderot’s schoolchildren over recurring Qassam rocket hits.
Employing a technique that calls for physicalizing trauma, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR ), art therapist Shahar Ben is helping the kids cope.
She’s done a great thing.
But despite the positive attitudes radiated by interviewees, this video is more effective than aftermath images splashed across television screens at conveying how very screwed up things are in Sderot.
Watch & Weep.
“Color Red”, for the uninitiated, is a code aired over the radio each time an incoming rocket is about to hit.
Thanks, Yael, for the lead.

very special .what a wonderfull job!
The song is grat, the therapists, teavchers and children are heroes. The rest of us, who enjoy normal while they to suffer like this – we are the “good men” in the famous saying: “All it takes for evil to triumph is for a few good men to do nothing.”
The least we can do is demonstrate, pull ourselves together and make a lot of noise !! And i am sure that there is more than we can do.
KOL HAKAVOD,
WHAT A GREAT SKILL YOU HAVE TAUGHT THESE WONDERFUL KIDS WHO HAVE TO COPE WITH SUCH A DIFFICULT SITUATION IN THEIR YOUNG LIVES.
MANY ADULTS NEED COPING SKILLS AS WELL.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR VERY DIFFERENT WORK.
DR LILI HODIS
Thank you for sharing this song. I am amazed at what a simple song can do.
