Army Munchies
No more chocolate bars or water fountains for today’s Israeli army soldier.
Uh uh.
According to a study of soldiers’ eating and snacking habits, today’s combat boys and girls are into slightly healthier fare than were their predecessors of the 60′s and 70′s.
The study cites German import Corny “health bar” sales as up 40% over Twist and Egosi traditional chocolate treats of yesteryear.
And although soda is still the #1 drink choice, iced tea and mineral water sales are on the rise – tea by 19% over last year and mineral water by 24%.
A health oasis, I’m telling you. An oasis of health.

What does the study say about new immigrants who eat falafel 47 times a week? Is this an increase from yesteryear?
I remember chomping on Ta’ami and Coca Cola from the “Sheckem” the Rasap would open at his convenience while training in the Jordan Valley near -OUJA-… what a hell hole.
Thanks a lot Mr. Rasap for not having enough “mekupelet” bars as those were always in high demand.
And by the way, I could have eaten chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner and still been a lean-mean-fighting-machine. We trained hard. They kicked our asses.
