What’s the saying?

Get three Israelis in a room together and you’ll have four opinions…?

Well our people have proven once again that when it comes to arguing to the bitter end, we certainly have “an edge”.

Four proud Israeli 10th graders returned home from the European English Debate Championship this week with the 1st place trophy in hand.

They managed to beat out the competition by proving to judges that… 1) China isn’t a global threat 2) Democracy in Russia isn’t a a falsification 3) The U.S. is the true threat to the global environment.

The competition took place in the Czech Republic and high school students from all over Europe were represented.

Next up: The four are training for The International Debate Olympics to be held in September in D.C.

Well this is a relief. I thought it was only my family ’round the table at Passover & Rosh Ha’Shana!

    2. The U.S. is the true threat? I always shudder when I hear that coming from Israelis. Of course, the children are entitled to their belief; I just figured that of all people Israelis would know that the US isn’t the threat (though at times we certainly don’t help the situation).
