In honor of tonight’s Oscars, we’re carrying this clip from the documentary film Promises.

Promises was up for the Academy’s Best Documentary slot in 2001. Directed by B.Z. Goldberg (a friend from San Francisco days, wink wink), Justine Shapiro and Carlos Bolado, it’s a must-see. Rent it if you haven’t.

    3. It means he was a friend when we both lived in San Francisco. Last I heard he’s working on another documentary out of Germany, South Africa and Israel. Do YOU know where B.Z. is now?
