Dirty Money

Here’s a quirky variation on the old maxim “dirty money”:

Shocked workers at a Tiberias sewage purification plant found about 7,000 shekels ($2000) in bills mixed in with sewage. Sticking out of pipes, the bills were cut in half.

“When police arrived they didn’t believe me and left,” plant manager Haim Cohen told press. “Later on, different officers came and sifted through the sewage to see for themselves.”

The media speculated that the stash might have been the result of a domestic dispute.

Others speculated that one partner might have cut up the bills and flushed them down the toilet to punish the other.

A police spokesman said the money might have been linked to criminals and police are investigating.

  2. If those workers had found that money a few months ago, it would have only been worth $1750. They should have sat on it for another few months.
