If Friday’s turnout at Christian holy sites is a measure, then gear up for quite the crowd in Jerusalem’s Old City for today’s Easter Sunday ceremonies.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built over the spot where, according to the New Testament, Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected, is today’s “it spot”.
Even if you’re not celebrating, the quiet & devout gatherings at the church are quite interesting to witness. Dress comfortably and lightly if you head in that direction – we’ve got a heat wave going on – and take plenty of bottled water.
