Pens Poised

For Writer types, the announcement of an International Writers Conference opening in Jerusalem is exciting news.

Especially when celebrated authors make guest appearances.

Yesterday just such an event kicked off in Israel’s holy city, counting among its guest writers/lecturers Nobel Literature Prize winner Nadine Gordimer and acclaimed author of The Red Tent, Anita Diamant.

Israel’s President Shimon Peres delivered the keynote address and well-known Israeli author Amos Oz spoke on the effort involved in supporting Israel in times of little popular support.
