A walk in Jerusalem

Ben Yehuda HouseI work in the center of Jerusalem. Right on Ben Yehuda street, the main thoroughfare and pedestrian walkway of the city. It can get quite loud. Tourists, street musicians, beggars and annoying screaming teenagers provide an annoying soundtrack to my work day. I often need to clear my head and go somewhere quite for a little while. You’d think that places of that sort don’t exist downtown, but they do.

My favorite place to take a short walk is Ethiopia street, right off of Nevi’im. It’s a nice quiet street with beautiful homes that once housed some historical people. The most famous being Eliezer Ben Yehuda, reviver of the Hebrew language. Sadly, his house is unkempt (abandoned even) and even the sign that once told the story of the house has disappeared and was never replaced.
