My thoughts go back to walking along jaffa stopping on the corner of King George, the busker playing the tunes from the godfather he must of been at least 65yrs and a very good musican indeed. The weather warm with a pleasant breeze blowing along jaffa lots of people all going about there daily business. I had just travelled the world for the last year, but there was no where like jaffa.I stay in the jerusalem hostel a true family hostel run by a gentleman Arnon a true fatherly figure to all the lonely world travellers man the place had a vibe right oppersite zion square we where from all over the world me from liverpool england.Everyday was special history around every corner food from all over the people from all over the world, and of course Arnon who had style and personality your uncle your best friend all rolled into one a true communal hostel.I booked in for a couple of nights,i stayed for three months going back there for the next year four times. This road is the gateway to the heart of jerusalem, all the festivals through the year.Man it,s so special you have to be there, each shabbat we shared food together. If there,s one thing you have to do as a traveller it,s visit Jerusalem and stay at the Jaffa hostel. Stroll up to the market locally know as the shukk on a beautiful summers day man you,ll be knocked over by the warmth of the jewish market traders all the different produce it,s truely magical you.ll want to go back again and again then stroll back down jaffa to zion square there,s always some thing going on in the square it got that buzz about it as you head up the cafe area of ben yuhuda so relaxing just to sit and watch the world go buy enjoying a smoothie. There,s so much more all the side streets resturants gift shops bistros then in the evening the place comes alive til early the next day : ) this was the jaffa road i remember end of 2006 through till the begining 2008.
