I was born and raised on a kibbutz where the Green Line is/was and was always instructed to be independent and self-reliant.

Bragging about schools is just the most pathetic thing I have heard of.

I live in New York City - ground zero of Liberalism.

I believe in nothing because belief requires faith and faith is based on nothing. I hold and defend reason and reality because that is the only way Man can live properly on earth.

In fact Lady Thatcher's first statement when she became PM of Britain correctly stated that "there is no such entity as society". And that is correct.

We are all individuals and not part of a collective. Individualism means liberty and that is the great gift the United States gave the world. Unfortunately the USA has moved away from its Constitution.

Sadly, Plato is overcoming Aristotle.

Hi Joe,

Parents like to brag, and in my opinion bragging about eco-education is something Israeli parents are likely to do. I don't know where you live, or what you believe in, but teaching kids recycling in Israel –– where the concept barely exists –– deserves, mention and recognition. The accreditation comes by way of the government, who's doling out the subsidies.

As for not believing in the community, that you'll need to take up with a philosopher, your rabbi, priest or wife. Good luck!

What does "contribution to the community" mean. I cant stand such collectivist rubbish.

People are individuals and there is no such special entity known as "community".

People live in towns and villages and cities for specific reasons - it is convenient, but not because they either owe or should sacrifice for to anyone.

As for parents wanting to brag about theor kids being in a "green school" - what is the matter with thses people? Anyone doing this needs to get a grip on themselves and recover self-esteem.

And accrediyed green? By whose standard? What right does government have to dictate standards and brainwash kids? None.

Its bad enough the rabbis have a say in education, now the enviro whackos too? I pity Israeli kids receiving such an "education".
