Dear Isreality,
I have the opposite challenge: I am a Jewish, New York born full time working musician with thirty-three years experience who is trying to get INTO Tel Aviv to work in small venues, restaurants, cafes etc as a solo acoustic guitar player and singer. Can you help me find an international talent agent who represents musicians like myself who would like to cone to Israel to work, and possibly live full time?
Sincerely,
Barry Waller

I am looking for a great performer/band for our Yom Haatzmaut event here in Edmonton, alberta Canada. We have had some wonderful groups and singers here in the past. We need someone or group that will appeal to all ages. Original music is fine, but we like to know that the performers can also mix in the usual Israel songs of celebration.

Please contact me as soon as possible at the above email

thanks

I would disagree - American Jewish youth have never before been LESS associative with Israel.

They are generally, unless religous or have Israeli parents, these days so uniformed and disinterested in Israel that it is shocking.

And to blame are the parents and the pitiful American education system outside that of some private institutions.

Americans are generally pretty ignorant of the world and to see so many of those in Left wing circles protesting against Israel during the recent Operation Cast Lead with Jewish surnames is very sad indeed.

Why should Israeli bands make a difference when most American Jewish youths cannot even recite the Hebrew alphabet?

Secondly, alongside Israelis, American Jews are immature and spoilt - at least this is what it is like in NYC. They whine and cry and daddy and mommy are always there to "do".

I know I sound old fashioned but when I was 16 years old on the kibbutz we were already standing guard duty at 3am.

These days people are soft and pathetic.
