I would disagree - American Jewish youth have never before been LESS associative with Israel.

They are generally, unless religous or have Israeli parents, these days so uniformed and disinterested in Israel that it is shocking.

And to blame are the parents and the pitiful American education system outside that of some private institutions.

Americans are generally pretty ignorant of the world and to see so many of those in Left wing circles protesting against Israel during the recent Operation Cast Lead with Jewish surnames is very sad indeed.

Why should Israeli bands make a difference when most American Jewish youths cannot even recite the Hebrew alphabet?

Secondly, alongside Israelis, American Jews are immature and spoilt - at least this is what it is like in NYC. They whine and cry and daddy and mommy are always there to "do".

I know I sound old fashioned but when I was 16 years old on the kibbutz we were already standing guard duty at 3am.

These days people are soft and pathetic.
