Neck support

Having recently had twin boys, we’ve been inundated with gifts, including lots of boy clothing, toys for their future selves, blankets to keep them warm, and sundry other items. We’ve also had many friends who have handed down their no-longer needed baby ware, including one bassinet, two cribs, two swings, one bouncy seat, two car seats, three baby carriers, several activity blankets, lots of books, clothing and toys. They got to clean out their machsan — storeroom — while we benefitted from their largesse.

One product that I’ve been using, pretty much since the day they came home from the hospital, is Milega’s ‘tzavarena’, or neck pillow. It sits snugly around their small, floppy necks, and because it’s stuffed with small styrofoam beads encased in cotton-lycra fabric, it molds to their little heads and necks. We use them everywhere, in the swings, the car seats and the bouncy seats, for a more comfortable seated position for our little guys.

Milega — called YogiPoof in the U.S. — was founded by an Israeli couple who first began making their bean bag chairs in their Tel Aviv apartment, before moving out to their factory site in Pardes Hanna. They also have great, full-size bean bags, hassocks and pillows that work well in the den or living room.

True, my first bean bag chair was in hot pink vinyl, for my sophomore dorm room; but bean bags are clearly not just for dorm rooms anymore.
