What the hell does “All in all, a perfect story to take our minds off of Gilad Schalit, and the endless coalition talks.” mean.

Nothing in the world could take our minds of the plight of the Schalit family.
What is the connection?

Your description of the Body Worlds exhibit was very good. However, I don’t think it was necessary at all for you to mention in your last line that we, the Israeli public, “need something to get our minds off of Gilad Shalit.” I think that was a grossly unfortunate off-handed comment, and I hope you rescind it immediately!!!!!
