Pleasant port-a-potties

One more item of interest from that Klil wedding; I generally find that certain kinds of service items — public bathrooms, bars, wait service, checkout lines — are just not the same in Israel as they are in my homeland. Not that that’s a bad thing, you just get used to a different kind of service. Some might say that American service is with a smile, but the smile is fake, while Israeli service is with half an ear — due to the cellphone held to the other ear — it’s more real, and the conversation will end up being more personal. Like when you argue about the best bus to take with fellow passengers; talk politics with your cabbie, or, figure out the best supermarket in the city.

So you can imagine my surprise when I entered the port-a-potties at that recent Klil wedding. Port-a-potties are not great in any setting, or country, but I generally find them to be a dismal experience in these parts. But not these. Imagine parquet floors, piped in music, Asian design, fresh flowers, and a pleasant scent. So nice, I tried them twice.

Seems that NIVIP, which rents out equipment for events and movie theaters, are the experts in the port-a-potty business, really. They’re the best, in the Middle East, possibly even the West. I’d say it’s worth having an outdoor event, just to use these potties.
